A working cashier~

Over one month since my last post had passed. Well, nothing much happened back here except for two things; Sarawak's State Election (which Barisan Nasional won the majority) and the fact that I am a working cashier. hehehe. I started work exactly on April 1st. In the beginning, I was assigned as a Forecourt worker and man- I'm telling you it's not easy to work in the BEST Petronas Service Station (PSS) in Sarawak without stamina! Being in the topmost position; Telaga Tiga Sdn. Bhd. (PSS Kuching Utara) has a policy that requires all its Forecourt crew to attend to the customer even though the Malaysian government has gazetted in the law that requires all petrol service station to leave their customer alone and let them be independent! However, to maintain customer rating (in other words CASH FLOW) to the company, we proudly provide the best service in Sarawak. One week later, I was "upgraded" to the Cashier post which at first I am glad to perform (seeing the fact that I don't have to run here and there like fellow Forecourt crew and sitting hours in air-conditioned Mesra Store) but later I realised how cruel and painful it is to be a cashier~ well, at least in terms of your wage being cut because of cash short in the till!

Nah, well, I think I will update later on. Have a nice day fellas!

Memartabatkan Anak Bangsa

Sudah pasti, ramai yang mungkin tertanya-tanya, mengapa aku publish post sebegini rupa tajuknya?? well, as a law student, most of the time, I was frankly involved in politics (well, not really, I am just a sidekick)... Ahh, sudah pasti pengaruh blog rakanku "sing me a lullaby" http://azimissoauthentic.blogspot.com/ .... gaya penulisan beliau amat berbeza, distinctive and so special, because his mind is wise and contain lots of experience and memories too.. good one. kenapa nak puji lebih2 ni?? gilakah?? post ini agak pendek sebenarnya, kerana, clearly, aku belum bersedia nak berbicara mengenai destini anak bangsa (motto UiTM) akan tetapi, akan ku usahakan secepat yang mungkin.

Assalamualaikumwarahmatullah...

Realiti:: been sitting next to the college admin. office for almost 4 hours.

Haven't Seen You for a Long Time!

Well hello dear readers! (if applicable)

Sorry I haven't seen you for a long time and do you know why is that?? I've been busy completing my assignment! Ingatkan dah habis bcoz dah nak cuti raya cina kan... masya-Allah, semakin berlambak-lambak. Feuwhhhhh... tapi nak dijadikan cerita, Law fac UiTM sediakan tempat untuk peserta-peserta Phillip C. Jessup National Law Moot Court Competition. So, esok is final, and I'm going to watch it! hehehe.. so, ape sebenarnya Moot Court competition ni?? Let me (well, not me exactly) explain it to you:

"The Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition, also known as the Jessup, is the largest and most prestigious moot competition in the world, attracting participants from over 500 law schools in more than 100 countries in recent years. The competition is a simulation of a fictional dispute between countries before the International Court of Justice (ICJ). The competition is named after Philip Jessup who once served on the ICJ. It is organised by the International Law Students Association".

(Wikipedia, 2011)

hehehe.. senang x kerja aku?? well, assignment banyak.. and aku pulak nak bersenang-lenang... mmmm.. lantaklah.. muahahaha.. okay, will get back to you all later! Assalamualaikum..

SARAWAK --- A PLACE LIKE NO OTHER

Since this post is going to be, ahhh quite informative, so I’ll try to use English as much as possible. Sarawak (pronounced /səˈrɑːwɑːk/) is the largest state in Malaysia but I guess, one of the underdeveloped states because of its mighty size. Sarawak is mostly mountainous and it consists of series of mountain range namely Banjaran Tama Abu, Banjaran Kapuas Hulu and Banjaran Iran which we shared with Indonesia. Sarawak is situated in the Island of Borneo which happens to have the world's oldest rainforests, with over 8,000 species of flowering plants, including some 2,000 species of trees, 200 odd palms and more than 800 varieties of orchids - a horticulturists’ dream come true… =) Among the other well-known flowers are the hibiscus (Malaysia's national flower), and the evil, foul-smelling Rafflesia, measuring up to a metre across, weighing up to 9 kg, and smelling like rotting meat – aahhh well; a vulture's dream come true. Thankfully, it blooms only once in a while.

I guess my plagiarised description of Sarawak’s rainforest will not disturb you dear readers. The capital city of Sarawak is Kuching, my dearly beloved hometown and believe it or not, I’m one of the 579,900 residents of Kuching!!! Feuwhhhhh again… lesser traffic jam compared to Malaysia’s capital city, Kuala Lumpur. Actually, I’m a bit lazy to write tonight but as I’ve promised, I’ll just continue writing until my lappy runs out of battery… =) overall, Sarawak’s total population up-to-date is around 2,357,500… that’s a huge amount of carbon emission! Well, a bit on Sarawak’s history; we have the White Rajahs starting with James Brooke who invaded and colonised the state of Sarawak for more than a hundred years starting in 24 September 1841; when the short-minded long-gone Sultan of Brunei (sorry to have used that word). Nevertheless, they (the Rajahs) built Fort Margherita, the Astana of Sarawak, Sarawak’s old court building and these structures (and many more) is situated not far from my home… hehehe…

Sarawak on the other hand, after a careful observation, I believed having the most diverse ethnic in Malaysia. Sarawak has more than 40 sub-ethnic groups, each with its own distinct language, culture and lifestyle. Cities and larger towns are populated predominantly by Malays, Melanaus, Chinese, and a smaller percentage of Ibans and Bidayuhs who have migrated from their home-villages for employment reasons and for some reason, Sarawak is distinct with other states in Malaysia in the sense of the size of its Indian community. Wowwwww… which is smaller. There were also the Kayans, Kelabits, Penans, Lun Bawang, Kenyah and Sebob/Chebob which is the least known tribe in Sarawak… m-y-s-t-e-r-y =O ahhh yes, the Melanaus is a very “special” ethnic in Sarawak. Well, Pak Uban aka Pehin Sri Haji Abdul Taib Mahmud (Sarawak’s current Chief Minister) is a Melanau and his new wife, goshhhhh hotttttt! (Just to stay up-to-date). =) emmmmm… in the context of cultural diversities, I can prove it just by looking at myself. I’m a mix; Malay+Javanese+Melanau+a bit Chinese... well, I’m not quite sure of the Chinese part… hehehe. Never mind, let’s continue our journey into Sarawak.

Christianity is the largest professed religion in Sarawak with Islam being the second. Well, this must be the work of the Missionaries… ;) hehehe… ouh, ouh, before I forget, Sarawak is divided into eleven divisions (yupp, eleven) and they are so named Betong, Bintulu, Kapit, Kuching, Limbang, Miri, Mukah, Samarahan, Sarikei, Sibu, and the Sri Aman Division. What I love about Sarawak (particularly Kuching) is its coastal area. Even though its sea is not blue as it is in Pulau Langkawi, or green as it is in Sempoarna, well, it’s a gift from Allah! I appreciate that very much. Pantai Damai, the most famous beach in Kuching (not Sarawak; I reckoned) with its white sand, dark green bluish water, ahh… it’s just great! (Clearly, I’ve run out of ideas right now). I guess I’ll stop here and if there is any inquiry, please, don’t hesitate to contact me. Thank you for reading.

Sarawak's State Museum (the building originally built during the Rajahs Dynasty; served as an administrative office)

Sarawak's flag during Rajahs' period.

Sarawak's Waterfront, where Sarawak's old court building is situated and Fort Margherita and Astana is situated not far from this place.

Sarawak's new multi-million ringgit House of Representatives.

Kuching International Airport, main gateway to Sarawak.

Movie Masa Lapang

As tonight is Friday's night, which mean esok kelas hanya sebentar ye.. jadi, bru td aku habiskan menonton dua  movie yang pada aku, goshhhh.... SUPERB! heehhe.. the first one is Julia & Julie (or the other way around). Meryl Streep and others. cter ni pasal 2 org perempuan berlainan generasi yg mengejar cita2 dan impian menghasilkan sebuah buku masakan based on French cookings.. both of them succeed, even the ending is not so good.. huhhhh.. could've expected more.. hehehehe.. btol x??

the other one is Forrest Gump and this is indeed, filem terbaik yg pernah aku tonton setakat ni... huhuhuhu.. a motivational story about an autistic boy (btol ke dia autistik??) yg membesar dgn byk dugaan tp ade satu kelebihan die that is berlari selaju yg mungkin, still, unreachable.. hehhe. weyy, esok ade kelas 8.30 pagi.. economics pulak... i even wonder, why law students had to study econs?? nahhh, nevermind... haaa... aku terfikir gak, nt post aku yg akan datang, aku nk cter pasal sarawak lah.. all of it! so, you who have a negative perception(s) towards sarawak, please, take sometime to read.. hehehe.. anyway, nak sleep dulu.. ouh, jgn lpe tgk 2 movie yg aku cter kat atas tu k?? thanks...
